Mango Kiwi Green Smoothie

Mango Kiwi Green Smoothie

My little girls have started drinking green smoothies in the morning and it makes mama happy! Magnolia has liked them for awhile but Genevieve is a new convert. This smoothie is especially tangy and tropical and perfect if you're a green smoothie novice.

I drink my smoothies in the morning after my Morning Beauty Elixir. Wait 20-30 minutes before you eat anything else so that the fruit in the smoothie digests easily and you absorb the maximum amount of nutrients. Fruit digests really quickly and can cause indigestion if you eat other foods with it (other than green veggies). If you have a commute to work you could throw this in a smoothie bottle or mason jar and drink it on your drive. Sometimes I don't need anything else until mid-morning. Happy Blending!

Mango Kiwi Green Smoothie

Makes 7-8 cups

Ingredients:

2 cups of filtered water

2-3 large handfuls of organic baby spinach

2 organic cucumbers, chopped (Don't peel your cucumbers! A lot of the vitamins are in the skin.)

3 stalks of organic celery, chopped

2 kiwis, chopped (Leave the skin on! It will blend in and you won't know it's there.)

1 1/2 cups of frozen organic mango (you can also use fresh)

1 lime, juiced

1-2 droppers of liquid stevia (optional)

Directions:

Add 2 cups of filtered water to a high speed blender. Add the spinach, cucumbers and celery. Blend for 60 seconds until smooth. Add the lime juice, kiwis and mangos and blend for another 60 seconds. Add the liquid stevia to taste and pulse until combined. If you have a really sweet mango you may not need the extra sweetness. My smoothie was a little sour so I added two droppers of stevia.
